AQI (Air Quality Index) / Smoke
As wildfires continue to impact summer conditions in Oregon, ECSL has adopted the same AQI threshold as OSAA. An AQI reading of 150 or higher will result in the canceling of all games. A call will be made by 9 AM PST on Sunday morning for games played that day. Managers will only be informed via email if games are canceled. No email update means games will take place as planned.
ECSL will be using the LRAPA monitor at Amazon Park. You can view real-time AQI reading levels for this monitor by clicking this link.
Please note that conditions can change after 9 AM.
It will be up to managers to monitor these changes and make adjustments.
Excessive Heat
ECSL has adopted the OSAA (Oregon School Activities Association) approach to excessive heat by following the “Heat Index Calculation”. Managers will be notified leading up to games if weather conditions may be subject to this policy. Subsequent games may be canceled if conditions warrant. https://www.osaa.org/heat-index
